Cleveland-area home listings surge 45.7% in March

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A new report showed that the Cleveland-Elyria area saw an increase in home listings in March.

In its National Housing Report, RE/MAX, a global real estate franchisor, found that there were 2,346 new listings last month, a 45.7% increase from February which had 1,610. It also noted that the March numbers were a slight increase compared to last year when there were 2,138 new listings. The report added that the area’s median home sales price was $232,500 in March, a 3.3% increase from February, which saw a median of $225,000. Nationally, Cleveland placed fourth for the highest year-over-year increase at an 8.1%. March 2024 had a median price of $215,000.

Burlington, Vermont, came in at number one with a median of $477,450, a 22.4% increase from last year. In second and third place are Trenton, New Jersey and Fayetteville, Arkansas which had medians of $419,500, a 9.7% increase and $369,900, an 8.8% increase respectively.

Rounding out the top five behind Cleveland was Providence, Rhode Island, which had a median of $470,000, which was a 7.2% increase from last year.

RE/MAX also noted that homes spent 31 days on the market in March, 4% higher than the 29 days the same time last year, but 27.7% less compared to February when homes were on the market for 42 days.
