OC Federal Credit Union Awards $73,000 in Catholic School Grants

OC Federal Credit Union expanded its Catholic School Grant Program in 2019 and awarded $73,000 to thirty-nine dif­ferent OC Federal Credit Union member schools throughout the Di­ocese of Cleveland, Cincinnati, Steubenville, and Youngstown.

Stark County Catholic Schools in Canton and Metro Catholic School in Cleveland were selected for the top two grant awards of $10,000. Four schools were selected for grants in the amount of $5,000: St. Jude Catholic School in Elyria, DePaul Cristo Rey High School in Cincinnati, Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, and St. Mary School in Chardon. A total of thirty-three other schools received grants in the amount of $1,000.

Funding for the Catholic School Grant Program was increased in 2018 from $68,000 to $73,000. The grant funding sup­ported a variety of initiatives, including significant upgrades in technology, a summer reading intervention program, sensory rooms, a broadcast studio, STEM & STREAM curriculum addi­tions, and other capital improvement projects.
